Metrics Modeled

Composite rating

Comp°Modeled

An estimate from a model we built. Useful, but not a fact — every modeled stat's page says where it's weak.

Definition

A single rating per player, built by combining five component scores: shot value, carrying, box entries, defensive contribution, and goalkeeping where applicable. It is the most opinionated number on the site — a rating, not a measurement.

How much is enough

Component scores are noisy under 600 minutes.

Where it is weak

The component weights are ours. A different reasonable weighting produces a different ordering, particularly among midfielders.

What it refuses to measure

Composite is not a transfer valuation, a projection, or a claim about a player's ceiling. It describes what happened in the window it covers.

What would prove this wrong

If a reasonable alternative weighting of the same five components reorders the top ten in most seasons, the published ordering is an artifact of our weights, not of performance.
